A song for Kathryn

[작품소개] The paintings find their analog in a series of glass sculptures inspired by the facade of Yale's Beinecke Library. Wrapped in semi-translucent marble, the building necessarily reveals its framework and stanchions. Kassay's glass sculptures - solid wedges designed to be inserted into library books - act as lenses which simultaneously allow light to pass into their contents, while obfuscating the legibility of the text they contain. The books become containers, orphaned from one communicative register then adopted into another, which give temporary residence to Kassay's sculptures.

Jacob Kassay was born in Lewiston, NY. He received his BFA from State University of New York at Buffalo and now lives and works Los Angeles. Recent solo shows include The Kitchen, New York; Xavier Hufkens, Brussels; The Powerstation, Dallas (catalogue) and Institute of Contemporary Art, London (catalogue).

A song for Kathryn

I
Did not intend to meet you

You
Did not intend to meet me

By the way
We met unexpectedly

This is
a Random access
and nonlinear of Nam June Paik

That is
Relations and
Correspondence of Lee Ufan

I am the old generation
in Seoul

You are  the new generation
in New York

Nam June Paik
he is So eager
to meet
East and West
Your smile full of
Western aesthetics

My face full of
Eastern Intuition

We could not find any other different
between you and me
We are able to meet

By The Big Bang Theory
Accident is necessity
Necessity  is accident

At the moment I  See you
I could see the world

At the moment
I Hold your hand
I could get the universe

John Cage in Youth
He studied a Chinese classic on divination(周易)

When You and I,
applied a Chinese classic on divination
We cant help meeting for each other.

You and I are inevitable
We origins from the same heaven(天生緣分)
Our moment in meeting is a short but
Live long in the memories
